You will provide comprehensive health services, manage medical emergencies, and collaborate closely with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to promote optimal student health outcomes. Duties

• Deliver direct nursing care to students with special needs, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring
• Assess student health status through detailed evaluations and develop individualized health plans aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the school setting, utilizing CPR, AED operation, and emergency response protocols
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals regarding student health concerns and treatment plans
• Conduct health screenings, immunizations, and health education sessions tailored to student populations
• Ensure adherence to all health regulations and school policies related to infection control, medication storage, and safety procedures

Experience

• Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric nursing, geriatrics, or school clinic experience is highly desirable
• Hands-on experience with IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) certification required
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient record management
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and health regulations compliance necessary for effective patient assessment and care delivery
• Experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics units, or post-acute care environments is advantageous
• Strong understanding of State Board of Nursing practices and Nursing Practice Acts to ensure policy compliance
