[Remote] Staff Accountant

EWC Growth is seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee core accounting functions and maintain strong internal controls across its operations. The role involves financial reporting, multi-unit accounting, compliance, and process improvement in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review daily, monthly, and annual journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures Analyze financial results and investigate variances between actual and budgeted performance Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Manage accounting activities for multiple center locations, ensuring consistent accounting treatment across all stores Review store-level cash, credit card settlements, and other revenue transactions Support new store openings, store relocations, and store closures from an accounting perspective Analyze store profitability and operational performance metrics Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and retail operations Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements Assist with sales tax compliance and multi-state reporting requirements Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency Participate in ERP, POS, and financial systems enhancements and implementations Collaborate cross-functionally with human resources, operations, and sales teams Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced proficiency with pivot tables and v-lookups Experience with Rippling, NetSuite, and other business management platforms Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance 401(k) Plan Paid Time Off & Holidays Paid Parental Leave Life & Disability Insurance FSA & HSA Accounts Complementary Waxing & Product Discounts Company Overview EWC Growth franchisee European Wax Center works with employees to drive growth.
