Experienced A&P Mechanic – General Aviation (8+ Years)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform annual inspections and 100-hour inspections in accordance with FAA regulations
  • Perform oil changes, compression checks, and routine maintenance
  • Assemble and install parts and components on aircraft structures
  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot piston engine issues (Lycoming / Continental preferred)
  • Conduct functional tests and system checks
  • Perform basic avionics troubleshooting, installations, and wiring
  • Follow technical manuals and specifications to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Use various tools and equipment such as sheet metal tools, calipers, and soldering irons
  • Work on common general aviation aircraft (Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, Beechcraft, etc.)
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed

Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in general aviation aircraft (piston aircraft required)
  • Airline, jet-only, or military-only experience is NOT sufficient for this role
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required; IA strongly preferred
  • Strong experience performing annuals and 100-hour inspections
  • Experience working with Lycoming and Continental engines preferred
  • Experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, installation, and basic wiring (preferred)
  • Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and structural repair
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage jobs from start to finish
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with Garmin avionics (G1000, GTN, etc.)
  • IA certification

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced general aviation maintenance shop
  • Multiple aircraft and projects handled simultaneously
  • Hands-on, team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment as needed
