Experienced A&P Mechanic – General Aviation (8+ Years)

- Perform annual inspections and 100-hour inspections in accordance with FAA regulations
- Perform oil changes, compression checks, and routine maintenance
- Assemble and install parts and components on aircraft structures
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot piston engine issues (Lycoming / Continental preferred)
- Conduct functional tests and system checks
- Perform basic avionics troubleshooting, installations, and wiring
- Follow technical manuals and specifications to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations
- Use various tools and equipment such as sheet metal tools, calipers, and soldering irons
- Work on common general aviation aircraft (Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, Beechcraft, etc.)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed
Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in general aviation aircraft (piston aircraft required)
- Airline, jet-only, or military-only experience is NOT sufficient for this role
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required; IA strongly preferred
- Strong experience performing annuals and 100-hour inspections
- Experience working with Lycoming and Continental engines preferred
- Experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, installation, and basic wiring (preferred)
- Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and structural repair
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage jobs from start to finish
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Garmin avionics (G1000, GTN, etc.)
- IA certification
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced general aviation maintenance shop
- Multiple aircraft and projects handled simultaneously
- Hands-on, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment as needed
