Role Overview:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist will act as a critical connector between clinical operations and technology. You’ll work directly with clinicians, IT teams, and business leaders to ensure clinical systems are intuitive, efficient, and aligned with both caregiver needs and compliance standards. From training and education to implementation and optimization, this role is both strategic and hands-on—perfect for someone who understands healthcare workflows and knows how to translate complex technologies into practical, real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clinical, IT, and operational stakeholders to assess needs and align informatics solutions with real-world workflows.
- Implement, support, and optimize clinical applications to improve usability, performance, and compliance.
- Deliver engaging and effective training sessions and materials for clinical system users—supporting rollouts, upgrades, and new processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on clinical applications and tools, advising on best practices and system capabilities.
- Translate clinician feedback and system data into actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure informatics solutions comply with industry standards, including HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Act as a liaison between frontline users and technical teams—advocating for clinical needs while supporting organizational objectives.
- 5+ years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.
- Proven ability to design and deliver training for clinical systems and workflows.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations and compliance standards (HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Clinical background (e.g., RN, allied health, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Informatics certifications (e.g., ANCC Informatics Nursing, HIMSS CPHIMS) a plus.
- Able to thrive in a startup-like environment that demands agility, ownership, and proactive problem-solving.
- Strong communicator and facilitator, able to bridge technical and clinical language and priorities.
- Comfortable navigating shifting priorities in a fast-paced, rebuilding environment.
