Job Description The Admin Assistant WDC supports the Government Affairs Department by providing legendary Customer Service and administrative support to Department Teams and Leaders, up to and including the Director level. They’ll manage overall department administrative functions and support lower‑complexity projects while working closely with the federal legislative and federal regulatory Teams based in Washington, DC.

They’ll assist with activities that support the Company’s advocacy efforts, including legislative and regulatory research, drafting policy papers, covering congressional hearings and industry events, filing lobbying reports, and coordinating event‑related logistics and payments.

Assistant WDC brings strong organizational, communication, and customer‑focused skills to support effective engagement with governmental bodies and ensure smooth day‑to‑day department operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work under general supervision and may be assigned general projects
  • Manage small scale department projects and cultural activities
  • Support large event planning for the Department
  • Review department and company news closely and understand them in relationship to their organization
  • Write clear and concise responses to incoming email inquiries. Prepare communication on behalf of the Leader when directed
  • Edit and review all written correspondence
  • Submit expense reports and process payroll, as needed
  • Prioritize calendars and schedule travel arrangements under direction of Leader(s)
  • Organize and maintain all files, records, and other information
  • Assist in compiling reports
  • Serve as backup to Sr.

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Required: Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in Administrative Support or Customer Service related fields
  • Preferred: Capitol Hill or political campaign experience
  • Preferred: Experience drafting memos, reports, and briefing materials
  • Preferred: State and or local government experience
